Megaton Hippo Super NES Entrance (Animated)

Description

Yes, I finally got around to finishing this thing... It's been awhile since I finished Megaton Hippo's artwork, I know. About half a year ago, to be more precise. And that was after I said this was going to be a very fast paced project to help me speed up my number of submissions...Sweating a little...  But, in my defense it's been a pretty crazy six months. And this guy really gave me a lot of trouble. I am by no means a pixel artist, I'm just doing this for fun, that's why I'm not able to do my own backgrounds. I would love to do my own backgrounds for these guys. But I would also love to be able to clap my hands and make gold bars appear, but that ain't gonna happen. That said, this guy's so big he almost felt like a background. Which is kind of funny, because at first I thought it would make him easier to do, since his bigger size meant more pixels for more detail.
But oh my God. His bigger size, meant more pixels! For more detail!!! :nuu:
His standing sprite alone took me about a week, and that's not counting redraws. It was around that time, way back in April, I realized this was not going to meet my self imposed two week deadline. Then a couple of friends fell on hard times and came to live with me for about four months. While they were here I just found it hard to focus on this, throw in a living room remodeling, apartment hunting, ten "magic" flipp'n rings (I wish I was joking), an earnest shot at entrepreneurship, some amazing time devouring Video Game launches like Mario Kart 8 & Final Fantasy X X-2 HD Remastered, the quest for internet (seriously I had waaay too much trouble getting real internet set up), my family's nearly perfected art form of Lots-o-Drama.
Run Away
And you have a recipe for a very, very delayed, silly little, crudely animated gif. And to any of you who were actually looking forward to this, I am deeply, deeply sorry. Know that this thing was always in the back of my mind. Digging, burrowing...like some kind of guilt inducing brain parasite.

About that Hippo:

Megaton Hippo, has you can see is quite large by Mega Man X1, 2 or 3's Maverick standards. Not really sure how possible this guy would be on an actual Super Nintendo cart, but I wanted him to be big, because after all, if you're gonna have a name like Megaton you better have a butt big enough to back it up. He's a bit shorter than Kaiser Sigma (X3's final boss), but wider, and has way more sprites in this entrance alone then he has period.

Legal info:
The Maverick, and the crappy window are mine. But of course, the Mega Man X sprite, Background elements, and the health bars are all owned by Capcom, and were created by their talented sprite artists. I used them only to help people determine whether or not my sprite work was able to mesh well with their graphical style.
