Boom Barracuda: The Noisy Serpent

An ex-member of the water-based 18th units. Barracuda was never really popular among his fellow hunters, mainly due to his obnoxious personality, tendency to blare loud music, and just being plain hard to work with. In spite of this he was often relied upon for his expertise with sonar, and "sound based" weaponry. Most of which he developed himself.
Barracuda was last seen when the dreadnought he was stationed on sank without warning killing all on board. Since Barracuda's was the only body not to be recovered, and the investigation of the wreck determined the haul was ripped apart by a massive shock-wave, it's presumed that he was more than likely responsible.

Hello, all. Finally got off my butt and did this guy's artwork. Not sure when I'll get around to his 16 bit iteration, since I really want to touch up Razor Earwig's before I move on. I'm just not satisfied with that one. But hopefully that edit will be up before too long, then I can move on to Barracuda's.

Out of all the mavericks I've done so far, I think it's safe to say that this guy was changed the most from the original sketch.
Besides really not liking all the fins I decided to throw on him (apparently for good measure ) which just made him look off to me. Especially the ones on his limbs, which gave him a sort of Hermes vibe. A few of the commenters on the sketch mention the ones on his head as well. But I wasn't sure if wanted to lose them or not, since I trying to convey this sort of punk-rocker look. But then Dollwoman pointed out how he looked more like a Velociraptor than a fish. Which was dead on. So I decided to really streamline the design, lose all that extra crap, and try to recapture the fish aspect. Plus it has the added benefit of making him a whole lot easier to sprite. So win win!  

I know the color choice is a bit odd. I was originally going to go with a light-blue color scheme, but decided I wanted to save that for the ice themed maverick.
